THE LAST WORD
The ultimate questions on life, sex and lobster tails.
This week, Korn drummer David Silveria shoots from the lip with Paul Elliott:

LAST TIME YOU SAID NO TO DRUGS?
"Fuck. How many times? Tons of times. I'm never really in a position where I'm directly around people doing drugs -- ever. I can't remember the last time I said no, but I don't remember the last time anybody offered me drugs. You're talking about stuff besides alcohol and marijuana, right? A hard drug. I don't even know the last time someone offered me that shit."

LAST TIME YOU CRIED?
"Probably in Europe last time. On the phone when I was far away from my girl and missing her, being with a little baby. That's the worst thing about touring, just being away from home. It wasn't so bad before, when I didn't really have a home that was my home, with all my belongings in, and when I didn't have a girl waiting for me, when I had nobody I cared about. I wasn't missing anybody. I always miss my family, but I'm used to being away from them. So it wasn't that big a deal. I'd be out on tour and I'd look forward to going home just to get off the road and be able to drive around in my car and hang out with my friends. I'd miss that. But it's different now that I have somebody that I love and I'm starting a family with. It's a whole different story. That's a different kind of missing."

LAST CD YOU BOUGHT?
"The new Tool CD, 'Ænima'. I haven't actually listened to it yet, but just hearing a few songs from friends, I like what I've heard."

LAST TIME YOU MADE A FOOL OF YOURSELF?
"Jeez, that's been a long time too. Probably falling down in a bar or something like that."

LAST TIME YOU PUKED?
"And that's been a long time. There was a time when we had a barbecue and I drank a bottle of Jägermeister. That was about six months back. On tour I don't like to drink. The other guys, if they're tired, if they're not feeling good, they can just stand still for a minute, you know? But I have no choice. My arms have to keep moving. My instrument keeps me being physical all the time, so I don't like to drink, 'cos I don't like to feel bad. I go in phases. In the past few months, whenever I started drinking and getting a little bit of a buzz, I just didn't really like it. But months ago I would drink and get drunk sometimes, much more than now. But I think the last time I've really been drunk was last year at that barbecue. Before, I used to drink Jägermeister with no problem, but that night I had a real problem with it."

LAST TIME YOU TOLD SOMEONE TO FUCK OFF?
"A long time ago. I don't remember the last time when there was a band argument and somebody got so mad they told someone else to fuck off."

LAST TIME YOU WERE IN A FIGHT?
"Three or four years ago. It's been a long time. Too long to remember."

IF YOU HAD A LAST MEAL, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
"A big huge lobster tail. With a cup of butter. There's not really any meals that I want to eat all the time that I tell myself not to."

LAST TIME YOU FELT AFRAID?
"It was a plane flight, I'm sure, and it was really bumpy. I was like, 'Oh shit -- this plane is not too sturdy!'. My girl and I were both on it. We were flying from Seattle to Chicago and she said, 'Isn't it weird that we're flying through the air all this way up in the sky and there's nothing holding us, there's no strings keeping us up here?'. I started getting scared. The plane was dropping really suddenly too, which doesn't help!"

HOW LONG CAN YOU LAST?
"Doing what? I'd say as long as I want to!"
